CORUS: Corrosion prediction and detection by ultrasonic testing in metallic tanks and piping filled with chemicals.

Trough the CORUS project, Innerspec Technologies has developed a reliable method and the necessary tools for the detection, quantification and forecasting of wall-loss and corrosion in tank bottom floors and pipeline segment containing chemical products, without the need to empty the contents or decommission said assets.

The results of the CORUS project will have a significant impact in the improvement and optimization of operation and maintenance tasks, and will directly influence the future design of a new generation of tanks and pipelines for the petrochemical sector.

For this purpose, Innerspec leads a team made up of engineering company DBV Services (Spain), and corrosion experts from ELSYCA (Belgium) and CIDETEC (Spain). Additionally, partners will collaborate with leading operators of the petrochemical sector, during validation, testing and installation of the CORUS technology into their facilities.
